You may want to read my blog entry on 'Switching Sideways' (http://mogcow.blogspot.com/2006/11/switching-sideways.html)

This has quite a bit of detail on why I think dual-boot should be viewed with caution, including my experience with keeping a small 'stub system' of early Windows (98 I think) on my Win2K PC to run Tetris and a couple of similar puzzle games. I loved those games, but I booted into old Windows once every few days, then once a month, then...never. A very few people probably boot into 'the best OS for what they're doing at the time', but I bet most people reboot as seldom as possible.

Find out about how well Parallels (Windows emulation) works rather than pinning any hopes on dual boot, or do what I did when I switched to Mac and switch sideways (add the Mac to your PC by using a KVM switch or networking it, rather than setting a deadline for *replacing* the PC with the Mac). I actually use Microsoft Remote Desktop to do a few things with my old PC from my Mac, although the number of things I do that way are dwindling off now.

Switch in haste, repent at leisure.

I'm not sure yet. I'd like to do as much in OS X as I can, but the reality is that I probably can't get away from Windows just yet. I haven't decided if I'd prefer to be able to switch back and forth seemlessly (parallels) or dual boot with boot camp. I've heard that both work really well with the Intel chips. I'll just have to see.

So do you plan on dual booting, running in parallels, or just using OS X?
